The show's coaches Luis Fonsi, Wisin, Carlos Vives and Alejandra Guzmán talk to People CHICA about what's coming. “I’m super excited about starting the second season of La Voz. The first season was a success, I was lucky enough to walk away with the trophy," says Fonsi. "I had so much fun working with the coaches and hearing so much talent from different parts of the U.S. and Puerto Rico, so I’m excited to do it all over again.” 02 de 10 LATINX DIVERSITY (Photo by Alexander Tamargo/Getty Images) “It’s a celebration of Latin music. We are hearing all kinds of genres from many different countries and cultures. You get to hear a rock song and then a salsa song and then a vallenato song, and then reggaeton and then a classic ballad. It’s really a mixed batch of beautiful music," adds the "Despacito" singer. 03 de 10 WISIN'S WISDOM Courtesy of Telemundo “If there is no discipline and no desire to grow, [give] effort, and sacrifice, nothing will happen,” advises reggaeton star Wisin. “You have to be honest. On stage, music speaks for itself. A true star is able to overcome obstacles, to keep going and work hard.” 04 de 10 A BIG FIESTA Courtesy of Telemundo “It’s a fiesta of Latinos. They can sing in Spanish or English. We can show our culture, our folklore, our love for music," says Mexican rocker Alejandra Guzmán about the show. 05 de 10 GOOD VIBES Courtesy of Telemundo “It will be spectacular,” says Colombian vallenato king Carlos Vives about working with the rest of the coaches again. “We already trust one another and feel at ease and that will make this new season even more fun.” 06 de 10 THE POWER OF MUSIC Courtesy of Telemundo "Music has no language, so La Voz will attract a bilingual audience because the participants are singing both in English and Spanish," says Fonsi. "They are going to hear the best of Latin music and they are also going to hear a lot of songs in English. Music connects cultures and connects people." 07 de 10 BIG PLANS FOR 2020 “It’s a great blessing to be working with music stars that I have admired my whole life," says Wisin about the rest of the coaches. The Puerto Rican singer also has new music coming in 2020. “I’ve been in the studio working on Wisin y Yandel’s new album, collaborating with Sech and working on new songs with Reik and Farruko.” 08 de 10 MAKING MAGIC Courtesy of Telemundo "I look forward to that magic moment. You can’t really explain it. It’s not something I can put into words — you just know," says Fonsi. "It’s not perfection, it's not power, it's not the high note, it’s not the range, it's not the long bravado. It’s just that it factor, that the hair on the back of your neck stands up and you can’t even control your hand. It just has a mind of its own and you press that button without even realizing it," he says about what he hopes to see in new contestants. 09 de 10 LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! "Contestants bring on different voice types, different cultures. The new season will be filled with emotion, fun. When there is good chemistry and good energy great things happen. Vamos pa’ encima!"
